SnitchCenter Round-up: Jayhawks Ranked #1; Brotherly Love Cup and Middlebury Classic
Our MuggleNet SnitchCenter weekly round-up report covers all of the recent news, scores, rankings, and upcoming events in the world of Muggle Quidditch. This week’s report includes:
University of Kansas takes over as the #1 Ranked team: With its brilliant play and championship win over the University of Pittsburgh at the Midwest Cup in Indiana, the University of Kansas Jayhawks have surpassed Middlebury College to take the #1 ranking in the World. The Jayhawks are undefeated and have scored an impressive average of 137.5 points per game while only allowing an average of 35 points per game.
Philadelphia Brotherly Love Cup Report: Not only did Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania host an amazing ‘Harry Potter’ festival all last weekend, but they also took home the championship trophy with their solid 110-40 defeat of Penn State University.
Middlebury Classic a complete success: This past weekend was the sixth anniversary of Muggle Quidditch, so what better way to celebrate the milestone than a tournament at the home of Muggle Quidditch, Middlebury College. The plan was to hold a round-robin style tournament with the 22 teams from 10 different schools that attended the event, but instead it was decided to just have an unranked tournament filled with the fun and silliness that the game of Muggle Quidditch was originally based on. Everyone was declared a winner and the Classic was enjoyed by all teams.
UMass to host 2nd Annual Lily and James Potter Memorial Tournament: The University of Massachusetts will be celebrating a memorial tournament for the 30th anniversary of the tragic deaths of James and Lily Potter. It’s the 2nd Annual event for this tournament and we will have complete coverage for the event next week.
Reminder: There is still time to enter the AAGT contest for a FREE room for two and full passes to the Quidditch World Cup on Randall’s Island in New York, on November 12-13. Check out the full details right here and enter for your chance to win. See you again next week.
